Areas of Practice
My Brief Story of how I started
In the early 1980’s I obtained a jury verdict to protect my family. Partially, this resulted in my being invited to join “Children’s Rights for Parents,” a group that I helped get legislation passed stating that, everything else being equal, joint custody was presumed to be in the best interest of the child.
That experience led to my:
1) Serving 12 years in the Montana Legislature (8 years as a state senator and 4 years in the Montana House of Representatives;
2) Joining the Montana Mediation Association as a charter member;
3) Helping establish that people other than licensed attorneys are allowed to help the public with their legal affairs;
4) Becoming licensed as an advocate and counselor with the Blackfeet Tribal Court.
